About Us & Why We Do This!
What is a house concert? House concerts are generally private parties hosted by music lovers to allow musicians a free, intimate performance setting in someone’s home.
Why do we do this? We are musicians, and we love music. We want to support other musicians to perform in a comfortable setting for people who are interested in hearing their music. There are no TVs blaring sports, or loud talking as there might be in a bar. We have a lot of friends around the country who make their living playing music for others. This is also an opportunity to see them and have them perform for us.
Do you make money? No. We do not make any money for these events. Donations are requested that go directly to the musician. We provide a place for the performer to play and a guest room to stay with us if they want to. We do not take any donations ourselves. We do this for the love of the music.
How can I attend? House concert events are by invitation only. Being that these are events held in our home, we ask that you be concious of our neighbors, and enter and leave quietly, and park so as not to block any neighbor’s access to their homes. Because these events are held in a neighborhood, they usually end at 10:30 or 11:00 PM at the latest. Sometimes we hold them on a weekend day during the afternoon.
How do I contact you? You can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We can put you on our mailing list if you are interested in attending. If you are a musician looking for a venue, please contact us at that email address as well.
